Project Shakespeare presents ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ in Rindge

Project Shakespeare will present “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle, adapted and directed by Deborah Shakespeare Thurber. 

The performance will be Saturday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 6 Payson Hill Road in Rindge.

The story begins on a dark and stormy night. A strange visitor comes to the Murry house and beckons Meg, her brother Charles Wallace and their friend Calvin O’Keefe on a dangerous and extraordinary adventure traveling through time and space to rescue Meg’s scientist father from evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet.  Meg must save not only her family but the universe. 

This children’s book of fantasy and science fiction won the Newbery Medal in 1963.

This performance will be the culmination of a Project Shakespeare program called “One Play in One Week.” Over the February school break, students join together to rehearse, stage and perform the play in one week’s time.

The cast includes Ariella Leifer and EleanoraKishinevsky splitting the role of Meg Murry, Alexander Brand as Charles Wallace, Jem Russell as Calvin O’Keefe, Leila Burk as Mrs. Murry, Benjamin Michaud as Mr. Murry, Tess Geana as Mrs. Whatsit, Louise Arsenault as Mrs. Who, Madelyn Hammer as Mrs. Which, Lif Petrova and Miranda Pipitone as the Happy Medium, and Lachlan Linn-Boggs as the Man with the Red Eyes. 

 

The ensemble playing multiple roles includes LifPetrova, Peyton Brand, Clover Heinzmann, Lillianna Helsel, Rye Heinzmann, Eliza Hammer, AislinMurdough, Abigail McKibben, Lachlan Linn-Boggs, and Alexandra Concordia.

Production staff includes Haley Aho as assistant to the director and choreographer, Helen Martynuska as assistant to the director, Leo Burk and Riley Hammer as technical assistants and Quinn McKibben as lighting and sound operator.
