Letter: Ratcliffe states his case

I’m Chris Ratcliffe and I’m seeking a Rindge seat on the Jaffrey-Rindge School Board. If you are a regular reader of this paper, you may wonder if I’m related to “Over in Rindge” columnist Taylor Ratcliffe.  I’m happy to confirm that she is my wife and we have made Rindge our home for the past 18 years, where we are raising three great kids. My proudest claim to fame and most-important job is being their dad.

Family, kids and community are at the core of all I do. As a school board member, I’ll value the education of all our Rindge children as if they were my own. Our Jaffrey-Rindge schools have a mission to inspire, engage and empower all learners to thrive in their lives and communities. In order to achieve these lofty goals, smart and steady leadership is needed. I will provide that.

Our schools face many challenges to ensure that every student is given the tools that they need to be successful. I understand these issues and, if elected, pledge to work with my fellow board members to solve tough problems and make the schools the places our kids deserve to have.

As citizens of Rindge, you deserve to know who you are voting for. Although I’m highly involved and visible in town, I don’t know everyone. With one week until the election, I’m looking to connect with as many of you as possible in order to earn your vote. I’ll be at Rindge Candidates’ Night on Tuesday, March 7, to meet you and answer any questions. Please visit my Facebook page dedicated to my campaign to learn more about me and other chances to talk before the election.  Please get out and vote on March 14.
