The Rindge Recreation Department kicked off a week-long No School Extravaganza camp with a hike along one of Rindge’s largest conservation properties on the first day of April vacation.

The camp for children in grades kindergarten through seventh grade provides activities and child care from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while children are out of school, with extended hours offered for an additional fee.

On Monday, the group took a trip to Converse Meadow in Rindge, a conservation property that includes a wood trail and views along the water.

On Tuesday, the camp offered “Wild Science,” with demonstrations and challenges and experiments at the Rindge Recreation Center. Wednesday, the camp was scheduled to visit the EcoTarium in Worcester, Mass. On Thursday, the group is scheduled to visit the Beneski Museum in Amherst, Mass., and on Friday, a trip to the Keene YMCA for swimming, rock climbing and the Ninja Room is planned.

Visit rindge.recdesk.com or call 603-899-6847 for information about the Recreation Department’s vacation camps, including its upcoming Wellington Summer Camp, featuring weekly camps from June 24 through Aug. 9. Camps are $150 per week for Rindge residents or $175 for non-residents for campers from first through eighth grades.
