A tractor-trailer went off the road into Steele Pond Tuesday night.

According to an announcement from Antrim Fire & Ambulance, Antrim Ambulance, Antrim Fire, and Antrim Police were dispatched to Keene Road in the area of Steele Pond at 9:50 p..m. for a vehicle potentially in the water, and it was unknown if there were people inside.

Officers arriving on scene reported that a tractor-trailer had left the roadway in the eastbound lane and went down an embankment, taking down several trees, before coming to rest on its side with the cab partially in shallow water. Two people were inside, but did not appear to have significant injuries.

Engine companies removed the windshield to extricate the occupants. Booms were deployed in Steele Pond to mitigate any fuel or oil release, which appeared to be minimal, according to Antrim Fire & Rescue. One of the occupants was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital for evaluation.
