Rosemary Conroy, a contemporary painter, will celebrate her 20th anniversary of being a full-time artist with an open studio at 74-B Main St. in Francestown Saturday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 29, from noon to 4 p.m. each day.

Conroy, who was named one of “Eleven NH Women Artists to Watch” by New Hampshire Magazine and has been featured three times on “New Hampshire Chronicle,” will have new pieces on display this year including bears, whales, and birds. This year, she will offer 20% all her work in the studio during the weekend event. For information and to get directions, visit rosemaryconroyart.com or call 603-315-9060.

In addition to exhibiting recent original paintings, Conroy will also be selling  reproductions at her studio. The event is free and the public is welcome.

Conroy hasn’t had an open studio since 2018 when she decided to switch to every other year before COVID happened. Nevertheless, she has been painting steadily and decided that 2023 was time to try again.

Her previous career was working to protect habitat for wild animals. She co-hosted “Something Wild” on New Hampshire Public Radio for more than 10 years and wrote a nature column. Her artwork is found in private collections across the country and in several countries. Locally, Conroy’s work can be seen at Sullivan Gallery in Bedford, at Christof’s International Jewelry and Fine Art in Provincetown, Mass. and at her studio/gallery in Francestown.
