Wilton Collaborative Space offers activities

The Wilton Collaborative Space, now administered by the Wilton Community Center, will host the following events in February, all at 21 Gregg St. in Wilton.

On Friday, Feb. 3, the Wilton Folk Cafe returns with Newfound Grass, a bluegrass band. Newfound Grass performs traditional and progressive bluegrass with a modern twist. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30. This coffeehouse series is supported by Wilton Main Street Association. Donations are appreciated. Refreshments will be served. On Sunday, Feb. 5, meet artist OlhaNecheporenko and her family, from Ukraine. Necheporenko is an artist and painter and will have some of her work on display and for sale. There will be a silent auction for one of her pieces, the proceeds of which will aid families of children with disabilities and refugees from the occupied territories in Ukraine affected by Russian aggression.

Necheporenko will share her plans to bring art classes for both children and adults to the Wilton Collaborative Space. The reception will also feature an art activity for children. Refreshments will be served. Reservations are strongly suggested at 603-654-1245 or strumma@aol.com.

On Saturday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. is a chili cook-off/potluck. Prizes for first, second and third place will be given for chili with meat and vegetarian chili. Bread, beverages and dessert are provided. An open mic night will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. People can share songs or poems, and all ages are welcome. The event is usually held on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
