Hancock resident Kate Corr Frame to exhibit at Hancock Library

Hancock resident Kate Corr Frame will be sharing her fresh and unique artwork at the Hancock Library Oct. 16 through Nov. 24. The theme of her exhibit is ARTifacts and ARTifice.

Corr Frame has long been a collector of eclectic bygone artifacts. Curios, novelties, trinkets and knickknacks of all sorts are her bailiwick. With her ARTifacts creations she combines these disparate objects in single artistic displays and infuses them with new energy and life. In so doing, she endeavors to tell a story, provoke a thought, and/or elicit a smile.

In addition, Corr Frame has always had a keen interest in photography and painting. More recent has been her fascination with digital art. With ARTifice, she looks to blend both mediums. Using her photographs as a template she digitally enhances them with painterly strokes and flourishes creating more depth and warmth.

Working at several advertising agencies in NYC, Corr Frame had a long career as an art director. But her true passion was volunteering at grade and middle schools teaching art appreciation.

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Daniels Room. Masks will be required.

Exhibits can be viewed during regular library hours: Monday and Wednesday, 2 to 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thusday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call the library (525-4411) before your visit to ensure no special events are scheduled at that time. The library will follow COVID guidelines and restrictions that are current at the time of exhibits.
