On Saturday, March 30, 1 p.m., Rindge Historical Society begins its 2024 season of Music at the Museum.

The March open mic features the duo of Bernadette Colley and Richard Yospin. The event will be held at the Rindge Meeting House, 6 Payson Hill Road, and is open to the public. A $5 donation at the door benefits the Rindge Historical Society’s museum. Desserts, light lunch refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. No reservation is required.

According to Karla MacLeod, president of the Rindge Historical Society, “Music at the Museum is a way to bring people in the community together for a fun afternoon of enjoying the musical talent in the Monadnock region. The wonderful desserts and refreshments are often brought by attendees to share.”

Ray Siekierski of Rindge coordinates and hosts the monthly open mic. He is assisted by sound technician Mark Cantrill. Anyone interested in performing during the open mic portion of the event should send email to Siekierski at nooniekirk52@gmail.com. Musicians, poets and spoken-word artists of all ages are encouraged to perform.

Music at the Museum is a monthly event held on the last Saturday of the month, March through October, at either the Rindge Meeting House or outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society depending on weather. Each month includes a featured musical performance. Colley and Yospin are featured to start the 2024 season. Their repertoire that blends styles from country to blues, traditional ballads, musical theater and their own contemporary creations.

Future Music at the Museum dates are April 27 featuring Carl Beverly, May 25 with Tom Ahlborn-Hsu and Laurie Shapiro, June 29 with Jerry Wile, July 27 with Tom Smith, Sept. 28 with Mark Frederick Fisher and the final 2024 season event Oct. 26 with a performance by Garrels and Anderson. From May through September, Music at the Museum is held outdoors.
