Boston poet reading at library tonight
Boston poet Charles Coe is returning to the Hancock Town Library for a special holiday program on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Coe read at the Hancock Library back in June to celebrate the release of his latest book “All Sins Forgiven: Poems for My Parents.”
His December program will feature poetry and short prose related to the holiday season, including excerpts from Charles Dickens’ “Christmas Carol” and Isaac Bashevis Singer’s “Power of Light.” He’ll close the program by reading the full version of “Dylan Thomas’ “A Child’s Christmas in Wales.”
There’s no admission charge, but Coe has requested that those who attend consider making a donation to the Hancock-based Cornucopia Project, which is “dedicated to planting the seeds for a lifetime of healthy eating.”
