At its breakfast meeting Sept. 22, Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club welcomed speaker Eric Graage, a newcomer to the Monadnock area.
The group is meeting at Franklin Pierce University again for the academic year after COVID, and Graage, the newly appointed vice president for university advancement, presented his early impressions of the university and the area.
His presentation was a showcase of more than 20 years of experience as a leader in higher education and nonprofit fundraising. He outlined the charitable giving record of various sectors of the population, and provided a review of the future of philanthropy. He encouraged Rotarians to keep doing their community "service above self" to meet local and international needs. Graage is also interested in mentoring young people who would consider a career in philanthropy.
Graage also shared his delight in return to this region after six years in Canada, as his wife, now a Conant English teacher, has New Hampshire roots.
