Update: Two die in single-vehicle accident in Rindge

Update, 12:16 p.m.: Rindge police say two people were killed in a single-vehicle accident Saturday morning, according to a release. The names of the people were being withheld pending notification of the family, the release said. The accident is still under investigation but police believe speed may have been a factor, according to the release.

Police and emergency officials are responding to a fatal accident in Rindge on Thomas Road on Saturday morning, according to the Southwestern New Hampshire Alerts and Information Facebook page.

Rindge police would not allow reporters access beyond a roadblock on Thomas Road around 10 a.m. Police would not confirm if it was a fatal accident or how many people were injured. The accident reportedly took place around 8:30 a.m., according to SWNH Alerts, a volunteer organization that monitors scanner traffic.

Rockingham Alerts, another scanner monitoring group, said the accident involved one vehicle which struck a tree.
