The Greenville Planning Board continued applications for a proposed rehabilitation center and the conversion of the former Antiques Mall into an apartment building with little discussion Thursday.

The proposal to convert the former Chamberlin Mill building into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center was determined to have regional impact by the Planning Board in December. The board has since sought input from Southwest Regional Planning and other interested parties.

Chair Mike Sadowski informed representatives of Georges Realty, the applicant, that some of that feedback had been submitted that same day, leaving the board and applicant no time to review it, and other feedback was still outstanding.

The board is still reviewing the application for completeness. The applicant agreed to extend the time limit for the board to accept the application as complete, in order to incorporate any feedback from third parties.

Sadowski also advised the applicant to put in place a permanent agreement regarding parking for the facility, which does not have enough parking on-site to support a recovery center. The organization has an agreement with a nearby church to use some of its parking spaces, but Sadowski said he wanted assurances of permanency, as much as possible.

The board continued the hearing until March 9 at 7 p.m. at the Mascenic SAU offices.

The board did not discuss a proposal to convert the former Antiques Mall on Dunster Avenue into apartment units after applicant Dan Hynes requested a continuance prior to Thursday’s meeting.

The hearing on the proposed apartments was continued to April 13 at  7 p.m. in the Mascenic SAU offices.
