High Schools: ConVal soccer keeps on winning

Nikki Bell scored twice in the pouring rain as the ConVal girls’ soccer team beat Plymouth 4-0 on Monday night under the lights. Kara Keiper and Ayla Laro scored once each. Senior captain Lindsey Carey got her fifth shutout of the season in net.

ConVal (4-4-1) was scheduled to play Oyster River Tuesday, but that was rained out. The Cougars travel to Merrimack Valley (5-5) Thursday at 4 p.m.

 

BOYS’ SOCCER

Merrimack Valley 1

ConVal scored three times in the first half en route to a 4-1 win over Merrimack Valley on Monday.

Max Richard scored twice and Del Bonsu-Anane and Evan Merwede once each.

Colby Knight had two assists; Manny Bowman and Bonsu-Anane had one each.

ConVal (10-1)was scheduled to play LebanonWednesday, but that was postponed to a date to be determined. The Cougars host Manchester West (4-6) Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Conant 2, Stevens 2

Senior captain Gavin Motuzas scored twice for the Orioles as they tied Division II Stevens after two overtimes.

Ethan Vitello and Garrett Cournoyer provided the assists.

Conant (1-7-2) hosts Fall Mountain (1-8-1) Friday at 4 p.m.

Volleyball

Hanover 3, Conval 0

The winless Cougars hosted the Hanover Marauders Tuesday night and lost 3-0.

Leading the offense for the Cougars was Hannah Lecomte with 2 kills, 1ace, and 2 assists, Lillian James with 2 kills and an ace, and Molly Cole with a kill, ace, and 2 assists. Savannah Kersbergen, Paris MacKeigan, and Haley Davis all added a kill as well. MacKeigan lead the defense with 7 serve receives and 4 digs and James had 8 successful serve receives and 3 digs.

The Cougars (0-12) host Manchester West (0-7) on Thursday for their annual pink game in support of cancer research. Game time is 5:15 p.m.

FIELD HOCKEY

Newport 3, Mascenic 2

The Vikings were in command for most of Monday’s game against Newport, but the Tigers put in a late goal to beat Mascenic 3-2.

Allanah Johnson scored for the Vikings off an assist by Mahala Damery, and Sydney Bane scored unassisted.

Mascenic (2-5) is at St. Thomas (3-4-1) Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

GOLF

Mascenic finishes
undefeated

Joe Lisio led Mascenic with 24 Stableford points on Monday as the Vikings concluded an undefeated regular season by beating White Mountains and Moultonborough.

The Vikings went 20-0 in their Division IV schedule and will be a favorite at the state championships, held Tuesday at Nippo Lake Golf Club in Barrington.

at Hidden Creek

The Orioles got another good performance from Hayden Ketola, who finished with 15 points as Conant was second place to Lebanon in Monday’s match.

Connor Hart scored 12 and Jerome Olin and Henry Winiecki had 11 each.

Conant finished at 10-12. The state championships are next Thursday at Laconia Country Club.
