The annual Peterborough community “Messiah” festival will be held Dec. 1 at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church.

The exciting choral festival features the classic work by composer George Frideric Handel and will be conducted by James Sharrock. Colby Baker will return as the organist and a professional string/wind quartet will accompany the group. The festival will include seven Christmas chorus pieces and the Overture and Pastoral Symphony played by the instrumental quartet. Vocal soloists will be Amy Lesieur (soprano), Pamela Stevens (alto), Matthew McGinnis (tenor) and Nick Tocci (bass).

Community singers are welcome! Singers will come at 1 p.m. to rehearse with organ and quartet, and perform a 4 p.m. concert in the church sanctuary. All church and community members are invited to the free hour-long concert. (Donations are greatly appreciated.)

Those interested in singing should contact Peggy Brown at peggy.brown252@gmail.com or 924-4226 to prepare the music and pre-register.
