Old Glory Guns and Ammo will be moving from Mason to Greenville, planning to erect an expanded store at the intersection of Route 31 and Sophia’s Way.

The store, owned by Dana Ryll, has been located on Fitchburg Road, also known as Route 31, in Mason since 2014. Prior to Ryll’s ownership, the building was operated as the State Line Gun Shop.

During its Aug. 23 meeting, the Greenville Planning Board approved an application to construct a 7,200 square foot store and parking area at the Route 31/Sophia Way intersection, according to Planning Board minutes.

The site of the new store was formerly occupied by Cassidy Tree Removal. The current building on the lot will be demolished and a new store constructed for Old Glory Guns and Ammo.

The Planning Board approved the site plan for the new building, conditional upon approval of the town’s water and sewer commission and that the proper forms be filed with with Greenville Fire Department before demolition of the existing structure begins.

In other planning board news:

Planning Board Chairman Ed White, in response to community concerns related to traffic on Route 31, looked into the possibility of having a safety audit done on the road. White found the town did not qualify for the audit, because there has not been multiple serious accidents or deaths on the road.

Dollar General has begun site work on its new location in Greenville. A building permit has been approved.

The Greenville Planning Board meets next on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall.
