Family and friends of Peterborough resident Brenda L. Wszolek are mourning her passing after Wszolek was killed in an early morning single-vehicle crash on Friday.

“She loved her children and family more than life,” Kaley Kennard, Wszolek’s daughter, said. “She was a bright vibrant soul who loved with the biggest heart. She will be dearly missed and not forgotten.”

Wszolek attended Central High School in Manchester and worked for the city’s Alpha-Bits Learning Center for many years, Kennard said. Wszolek loved to do karaoke and sing Love Shack, find little trinkets at yard sales, and loved animals – especially cats, Kennard said.

According to a press release from the Peterborough Police Department, Wszolek, 52, was a passenger in a 2004 Chevy Malibu headed northbound on Route 202 in Peterborough in the area of Scott Mitchell Road around 3:50 a.m. Friday. The vehicle, driven by James M. Harris, 48, of Peterborough, crossed the southbound lane, left the roadway, overturned through a small body of water, and came to final rest on dry land more than 130 feet from where the vehicle left the roadway, according to the press release. Wszolek was pronounced dead on the scene by the medical examiner.

Harris suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Concord hospital and then transferred to a Worcester, Massachusetts hospital, according to the press release. Peterborough police did not respond to a request for an update on the investigation as of press time Monday. No Worcester hospitals were able to confirm Harris as a patient as of Monday morning.

The collision remains under investigation by the Peterborough Police Department. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to call the Peterborough Police Department at 924-8050.

Donations in Wszolek’s name can go to the Manchester Animal Shelter, Kennard said.
