A Rindge minor was transported to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a single vehicle accident in Sharon.

The 17-year-old female was driving westbound on Route 124 near the Jaffrey border, when she overcorrected her 1998 Subaru Legacy and rolled the vehicle over into a tree, according to Peterborough Police Captain Ernie Belletete.

The minor was treated and released the same day, according to Monadnock Community Hospital spokesperson Phillip McFarland.

The minor told police that she was distracted because she was looking for something while she was driving.

Belletete said the driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene after sustaining extensive damage, especially to the driver’s side.
