The arraignment of a New Ipswich man who was paralyzed from the waist down after a June auto accident has been delayed once again.

Gregory Steele, 26, was charged with aggravated DWI, DWI, possession of marijuana, and transportation of drugs in a motor vehicle by state police on June 9 after crashing his car into a guardrail on Interstate 93 in Northfield.

Steele was scheduled to be arraigned at the Merrimack Superior Court on Sept. 14 but that date has now been pushed to Dec. 13, according to a court official. Steele’s arraignment has now been rescheduled three times.

According to an affidavit on file with the court, multiple opened and unopened containers of alcohol, “green vegetative matter,” and two glass smoking pipes were found in Steele’s car after the accident.

A blood test was requested but there is no mention of Steele’s BAC level in the affidavit.

No other cars or passengers were involved in the accident, according to police reports.

A gofundme page has raised almost $15,000 for Steele to date, with $5,000 said to be from former NBA superstar Tracy McGrady.
