Dublin’s Night Sky will be the topic of the August Community Forum, however it will be on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Dublin School Perkin Observatory.

The Forum will give participants an opportunity to view the stars through the Perkin Observatory telescope; as well as to see the constellations from the outside the Observatory and learn their mythology and to hear about astronomical effects on the earth’s weather from experts at Yankee’s Old Farmer’s Almanac. Participants will break into three groups and rotate locations every 20 minutes.

Presenters will be Eric Nemitz, Dublin School’s Perkin Observatory Director, Henry Walters, Dublin School Faculty member and Sherin Pierce from The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

Parking will be on Lehmann Road below the Observatory. Please bring a flashlight for the walk up to the Observatory. Members of the Forum Committee will be at the bottom of the hill and can shuttle anyone who may have difficulty climbing the driveway to the Observatory.

The rain/cloud date will be Monday Aug. 27 or Tuesday, Aug. 28. Please check the calendar on the Dublin Community Center website at: For more information email or call 563-8080.
