Eighth event in ‘Notes’ series set for Jan. 8

Published: 1/3/2019 4:52:13 PM

Carolyn Edwards of Sunflowers restaurant in Jaffrey and singer songwriter Wendy Keith of Peterborough are glad to announce our eighth monthly event in the Notes series on Jan.8, the first event of 2019.

Sunflowers and Keith are presenting another collaborative effort that combines both live original music and spoken word in an intimate evening at Sunflowers.

A light buffet supper including dessert will be presented at a nominal fee beginning at 6 p.m. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

At 7 p.m., the entertainment will start off with New Hampshire folk duo Fortune’s Favor, featuring Chris O’Conner and Mike Bradley, singing and playing an eclectic mix of humor, talking blues and songs of love and loss.

Chris and Mike will be followed by spoken word artists Betsy Small Campbell and Swift Corwin.

Betsy Small Campbell has spent the last thirty years working with vulnerable children and families here in the US and abroad. She is a writer, counselor, teacher, a mother and an optimist.

Swift Corwin takes inspiration from his family and travels around woodland New Hampshire. He never knows when the poems will be given to him. He just willingly accepts them from the winds and puts them down.

Finally, we have singer, musician and songwriter, Jane Ross Fallon. She has won numerous singer songwriter competitions nationwide. Jane Ross Fallon is described by Tom Bianchi at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge as playing “effortless, graceful guitar: The Real Deal.”

“NOTES” takes place usually on the first Tuesday of each month. Keith and Carolyn Edwards of Sunflowers have created an opportunity for musical and spoken word artists to join together, express and represent original work. Please call Sunflowers in advance for reservations at 593-3303.
