Long-time Monadnock region favorite Garnet Rogers and his long-time friend and musical collaborator, Archie Fisher, will perform in Peterborough on Oct. 5, the only New Hampshire concert in their final U.S. tour. The show will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Peterborough Players theater.

The concert brings two original songwriters who work within deep traditions of place and song. Scottish folk master Archie Fisher is well known all over the British Isles as host of his own BBC radio show and his appearances stateside are to be cherished. His most recent collection of songs, “Windward Away,” is a haunting collection of introspective ballads evoking the wild and rough beauty of the Scottish border country.

Rogers and his brother Stan spearheaded a tremendous renaissance in Canadian songwriting in the 1970s and 1980s. His songs tell detailed stories of people from all walks of life and their small, everyday victories. He can shift from seriousness to razor-sharp wit in a heartbeat, and no two of his shows are the same.

Advance tickets are $22, available online at pfmsconcerts.org or at the Toadstool Bookshops in Peterborough and Keene. Tickets on the day of show are $25.
