Learn to make your own syrup
The sap will be running soon. Here’s a chance to get started on making your own maple syrup.
A workshop at Keene Agway from 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 15 will address steps, from tree to the table plus the equipment needed. This workshop is geared to first-timers and beginner maplers, who have fewer than 75 taps.
All aspects of maple sugaring will be covered, including tree identification and tapping, collecting and boiling sap, finishing, filtering and packing syrup. Equipment and supplies needed, especially sizing and operating small evaporators.
