FPU hires director of nursing education
Lisa J. Hogan, DNP, CRNA was appointed as director of nursing education at Franklin Pierce University;. She will begin her tenure on June 3, serving as the nursing administrator for both the graduate and undergraduate nursing programs.
Dr. Hogan brings 26 years of nursing to her new position. She is an advanced practice registered nurse who specializes in nurse anesthesia and also has significant experience in a variety of roles in higher education.
Hogan has practiced at every level of nursing and is currently completing her dissertation as a Ph.D. candidate in Education/Instructional Leadership & Management at Robert Morris University, Moon Township, Penn.
Hogan comes to Franklin Pierce from the University of New England, where she served as the assistant program director and assistant clinical professor of the School of Nurse Anesthesia. Prior to that, she was a clinical instructor for the School of Nurse Anesthesia at Northeastern University and served for 14 years in the U.S. Army Nurse Reserve.
In 2003, Hogan spent time caring for injured soldiers while on active duty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., in support of Operation Noble Eagle. She also served as chief nurse anesthetist at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Mass., for 10 years.
