Tuesday, Dec. 31

Reckless operation: At 5:12 p.m., police responded to residence in Rindge to serve a must-appear summons to Colin Ireland, 20, of Rindge for alleged reckless operation. He was issued a Feb. 6 court date at 8th District Court, Jaffrey, as a result of a car accident on Nov. 27.

Thursday, Jan. 2

Car accident: At 4:17 p.m., police responded to Squantum Road near New England Wood Pellet for a single-car crash. Joshua Blanchette, 31, of Jaffrey was traveling east in his 2008 Subaru Legacy when, according to Blanchette, the Subaru hit ice, causing the car to hit the stone rail on the bridge. Both Blanchette and his passenger were treated on-scene for minor injuries and were ultimately transported to Monadnock Community Hospital. The car was towed from the scene.

Car off road: At 5:43 p.m., police responded to Prescott Road near Sawmill Drive for a car off the road. The driver, John Boussiere, 57, of Winchendon, Mass., was traveling in his 2007 Chevy Impala when he allegedly failed to negotiate a corner due to slippery road conditions and went off the road. Boussiere’s vehicle was towed back onto the road, where it was driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.

Friday, Jan. 3

Car vs. moose: At 2:14 a.m., police responded to reports of a car hitting a moose on Route 202 near the Peterborough town line. When they arrived on the scene, police saw that the collision was well into Peterborough, and they called in a Peterborough officer. The driver, Courtney Davis, 35, of Troy, said he was fine since he hit the moose with his plow truck, and only the plow was damaged. The female moose was still alive, but was on the snowbank with serious injuries. Peterborough police arrived, and Jaffrey police left the scene with no further services needed.

Car accident: At 3 p.m., police responded to a two-car crash on Howard Hill Road by Michigan Road. Jacob Pearce, 20, of Jaffrey was traveling south on Howard Hill in his 1997 Nissan Centra and was planning to turn east to remain on Howard Hill Road near Contoocook Beach. Matthew Bertolami, 35, of Troy, was traveling in his 2000 Dodge pickup westbound on Howard Hill Road, with the intention of continuing straight onto Michigan Road. Neither Pearce nor Bertolami yielded their vehicles when they arrived at the Michigan Street intersection, and subsequently the vehicles crashed into each other. Pearce’s vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage, and Bertolami’s car sustained minor front-end damage. No injuries were reported, and Pearce was issued a citation for an uninspected motor vehicle. Both cars were driven from the scene.

Saturday, Jan. 4

Suspended license: At 9:50 a.m., officers stopped a car on Peterborough Street and found that the driver was under suspension of license out of Connecticut for failing to pay a fine. Police arrested and charged Jonathan Downing, 31, of Rumney with operation after suspension. Downing was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and was issued a Feb. 6 court date at 8th District Court, Jaffrey.

Car rollover: At 12:15 p.m., police responded to a car rollover on North Street near Town Farm Road. Alfred Holmes, 68, of Winchendon, Mass., was traveling in a 2003 Toyota Pickup southbound when he saw a car pulling out of Town Farm Road in front of him. Holmes lost control of his vehicle and it struck a nearby snowbank, rolling over. The pickup was towed, and the operator was transported back to the Police Department, where he waited for a ride. No injuries were reported. According to police, the roads were very slippery, packed down with snow and ice.

Car off road: At 12:15 p.m. while responding to the North Street rollover, officers observed a white Mazda Protégé slide off the road and down the embankment on River Street. The driver, Adam Broussard, 26, of Keene, was not injured, and his vehicle was towed back onto the road. There did not appear to be any damage to the car.

Sunday, Jan. 5

Arrest: At 11:30 a.m., Donald Blanchette, 32, of Jaffrey went to the police department to turn himself in on a warrant charging him with conduct after an accident. Blanchette was released on a must-appear summons for a Feb. 6 court date at 8th District Court, Jaffrey. Blanchette was served the warrant as a result of an incident that took place on Dec. 18, when it was alleged that Blanchette backed out of a parking lot at Mr. Mike’s Mini-Mart and into the passenger side of another vehicle.

Suspended license: At 5:03 p.m., police stopped a car on Thorndike Road for defective equipment and found the driver’s license to be suspended in Massachusetts. The driver, Christopher Holmes, 31, of Maynard, Mass., was also found to be traveling in a car with a registration that expired in October. Holmes was arrested and charged with operating after suspension and expired registration. Holmes was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and was issued a Feb. 6 court date at 8th District Court, Jaffrey. The car was towed from the scene.

Monday, Jan. 6

Arrest: At 3 p.m., David Myott, 56, of Jaffrey turned himself in on a warrant charging him with suspension of registration. Myott was released on $1,000 personal recognizance, and he was issued a Feb. 6 court date.
