Stanley Kimball will be missed
To the editor:
I was sad to read of the death of Stanley Kimball on June 9. For several years after I opened my bed and breakfast, The Currier House, 16 years ago, he was a friendly presence who stopped by from time to time. He told me that he would drive up from Littleton to visit his favorite places in New Hampshire. I took this to mean that he would stop by restaurants, etc., where a kindly woman would take the time to chat with him.
I was often struggling with my garden then and was always happy to take a break. He told me many stories of the old Yankee days and ways. He often brought me unusual presents; I remember a 12-pack of Pepsi, a blouse and a 10-pound bag of potatoes! He traveled with his aging dog and slowly he aged as well. I have missed him.
