Wilton candidates to weigh in at Candidates Night
WILTON — As March begins and polling day approaches, candidates for local municipal positions are getting ready to open up on the issues at the forefront of local government. Residents will get the chance to hear their stances at a candidates night event Tuesday.
All candidates, both in contested and uncontested races are invited to speak about their platform, and residents will be given the opportunity to ask questions. On the municipal side, only two races have candidates vying for the positions. As Select Board Chair Steve McDonough has decided not to run for selectman this year, the town will have to decide between candidates James Tuttle or Richard Swanson.
Tuttle is also a candidate for the other contested position in town: the three-year seat on the Water Commission. His opponent is Select Board member Bill Condra.
In the School Board race, there are two open seats and three residents running for the three-year Wilton representative. Incumbent School Board Vice-Chair Harry Dailey is up for reelection, and running opposite him are Mary Guild and Nickolas Chapo.
Candidates Night will be held in the Town Hall court room at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
