Tuesday, April 9
Accident: At 5:45 p.m., police responded to North Street near Emery Road for a two-car crash. Kenneth Manwiller, 61, of New Ipswich was driving a 1991 Mazda southbound on North Street when he observed a black Chevy traveling northbound and attempting to make a left-hand turn in front of him, according to police. Manwiller told police that he hit his breaks, but was unable to avoid a collision with Joanne Cuzzi, 38, of Jaffrey, who was driving a 2006 Chevy. Manwiller’s vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and Cuzzi’s vehicle sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. There were no reported injuries.
Wednesday, April 10
Arrest: At 9 a.m., Russell Coy, 48, of Jaffrey turned himself into police on a warrant out of the Jaffrey Police Department, charging him with two counts of witness tampering. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance with an April 18 arraignment date at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey.
