Concern about health care issue

To the editor:

In Earl Goddard’s recent letter, he discusses the difference in meaning between “provide” and “promote” for the general welfare as mentioned in the Preamble of the United States Constitution.

Unfortunately, this leads him to trash and request the defunding of the Affordable (Health) Care Act.

I do not know this person but I am assuming he is older than 26 years of age, which would have allowed him to stay on his parents’ health plan. I don’t know if he just lost his job which means he also lost his health insurance. I don’t know if he or a family member tried but was unable to get health-care insurance because of a pre-existing condition. And I don’t know if he or someone in his family can no longer obtain health-care insurance for an illness which persists beyond the defined monetary cap “limit.”

I do hope that Mr. Goddard is safely housed so that any one of the above do not force him out on the street, homeless. What I am guessing is that Mr. Goddard is a Republican, which says it all.
