Police: Missing teen safe at home again
WILTON — A missing Wilton teenager has been returned home, after being gone for nearly two weeks.
Police reported that 17-year-old Kyle “Shawn” Flanagan of Wilton had been located Wednesday and was back with his family, after he had last been seen walking on the streets of Milford on Sept. 7.
According to a press release issued by the Wilton Police Department on Thursday afternoon, Flanagan was safe and uninjured when he was found.
Flanagan was considered to be a runaway by police. Police first asked for public assistance locating Flanagan on Sept. 11, after his family became concerned that his health and safety might be at risk, according to police. Several residents phoned in possible sightings of the teen after his disappearance was reported, but none of those sightings had been confirmed as of last week, according to police. Police did not return messages seeking comment on how Flanagan was located.
In the press release, Wilton police thanked residents for their assistance.
