Certification in food safety class to be held

If you run or own a food service establishment, serving safe food is important to the success of your business. University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension is offering a ServSafe class on Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at SCS Headstart in Keene. Class will be led by nationally ServSafe Certified Instructor Alice Mullen, UNH Cooperative Extension field specialist.

ServSafe training provides participants with the latest science-based information on safe food handling and best practices in the foodservice industry. Participants passing the exam with a grade of 75 percent or higher will receive ServSafe Food Safety Certification from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Certification is valid for five years.

UNH Cooperative Extension Educators have been teaching the ServSafe food safety class throughout New Hampshire for more than a decade. ServSafe is a program of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Thousands of New Hampshire food service workers have been certified and are knowledgeable about food safety basics.
