Teen seriously hurt while fixing old snowmobile
A Rindge teen was hospitalized after sustaining serious injuries in a weekend accident.
Two friends of the boy have identified him as Jacob Hruska, a sophomore at Conant High.
According to police, the 15-year-old boy was hurt while helping his father, Steven Hruska, 43, at their North Street residence in Rindge.
According to a press release issued by Rindge police, at around 4 p.m. on Saturday the father and son were working on an older model Arctic Cat snowmobile. The teen was holding the rear of the snowmobile off the ground so his father could open up the throttle. When the father accelerated the snowmobile, the track, which police said was old, broke free and cut through the teen’s boots and into his legs.
He was then transported by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital.
According to Jacob’s friends, he is currently at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., where he is undergoing surgery on his legs.
