Man sees shoplifting charges in teeth whitening theft
NASHUA — A Wilton man arrested on charges related to shoplifting earlier this month has been charged again in connection to stolen merchandise, including teeth whitening products, taken from a CVS store also in July.
Frank Pineault, 36, of Wilton was already in custody at the Hillsborough County jail when Nashua police issued a warrant for his arrest on further charges relating to shoplifting. Allegedly, on July 7 Pineault was reported to be shoplifting at a Nashua CVS, said Lt. Michael Moushegian of the Nashua Police in a telephone interview Friday.
Pineault allegedly walked out of CVS with eight items he had not paid for, including teeth whitening products. The total cost of the stolen merchandise exceeded $600, Moushegian said. On July 24, Pineault was brought to the Nashua Police Department to be re-booked. Pineault refused bail and was arraigned at the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua, on July 25.
Pineault had been previously arrested by Nashua police on July 8, after he and two associates allegedly exited a Kohl’s Department Store in Nashua with shoplifted merchandise. Shoplifting is usually a misdemeanor charge, but because Pineault already had a theft conviction on his record, both the charges for the CVS and Kohls thefts were upgraded to felony charges. A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
Also arrested in relation to the Kohl’s thefts were Benjamin Sherman, 22, of Nashua and Walter Dankhoff Jr., 25, of no fixed address.
In both shoplifting incidents, police were notified by store officials of suspicious behavior on the part of Pineault in the stores.
