Grand Jury indicts Rindge woman charged in fatal crash
KEENE — A Cheshire County Grand Jury indicted a Rindge woman charged in a fatal crash on Fitzwilliam Road in Jaffrey in which her boyfriend, Daniel Peard, was killed in early January, according to Jaffrey police records.
When Jaffrey police arrested Nichole Oates, 34, of Rindge, on Jan. 5 following the crash, Oates was charged with felony-level aggravated DWI and negligent homicide. She was indicted by a Grand Jury on Monday morning, police said.
Jaffrey police arrested Oates on Jan. 5 after she reportedly crashed a 2012 Ford F-150 Raptor in the area of 577 Fitzwilliam Rd. Peard, Oates’ passenger, died as a result of extensive injuries sustained in the accident.
April Seneschal of Jaffrey, the mother of Peard’s two young children, posted $5,000 cash or surety required for Oates’ release from jail on Jan. 7, two days after the crash, according to court records.
Peard graduated from Conant High School and was a lifelong Jaffrey resident. He was a diesel mechanic and maintained the fleet of trucks at his family’s two Jaffrey businesses, Red’s of Jaffrey on River Street and Monadnock Disposal Service on Old Sharon Road.
