Harris Center to hold annual Bird Count Dec. 15
The Harris Center will hold its 20th annual Christmas Bird Count on Dec. 15.
Begun in 1973 by the Harris Center’s Meade Cadot and coordinated annually by David Rowell, the count is part of the world’s oldest and largest biological survey and citizen science endeavor, with thousands of participants throughout North America, the Caribbean and far beyond. One needn’t be an expert to participate, which includes getting together after the count to share results and pizza.
Location for the supper will be announced. For details, and to sign up for the count, call Dave at 924-8790.
