Harris Center to lead summer hiking

The Harris Center is offering a new hiking, camping and citizen science adventure in the White Mountains for middle school kids this summer.

July 8-11, a small group of 8 will set up a base camp at Dolly Copp Campground in White Mountain National Forest and day hike the nearby ridges, peaks, and streams.

They will participate in the Appalachian Mt. Club’s Mountain Watch by photographing bloom stages of mountain wildflowers.

The experience is being led by Janet Altobello, Harris Center School Program Coordinator, and Carter Judkins, 3rd grade teacher at PES.

Both have climbed all 48 of NH’s 4000-foot mountains. For more information, contact Janet at the Harris Center, 525-3394 or at 924-8522.
