Senator Gilmour is honored for nursing excellence
Senator Peggy Gilmour of Hollis was a recipient of the prestigious American Association of Nurse Practitioners 2014 State Award for Excellence. She was honored at an awards ceremony and reception held during the AANP 2014 National Conference June 17 to 22 in Nashville, Tenn.
Gilmour represents Senate District 12, which includes Mason, Greenville, New Ipswich and Rindge.
The State Award for Nurse Practitioner Advocate was founded in 1993 to recognize the efforts of individuals who have made a significant contribution toward increasing the awareness and acceptance of nurse practitioners.
”I’m honored to receive the State Award for Nurse Practitioner Advocate by the National American Association of Nurse Practitioners,” said Gilmour. “Nurse Practitioners are vitally important to the health and well-being of our families. As a State Senator, I am continuously working to bring together members of both parties to craft legislation that will ensure that we continue to be one of the healthiest states in the nation.”
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners is the largest professional membership organization for NPs of all specialties. It represents the interests of the nation’s 189,000 NPs, including more than 50,000 members, providing a unified networking platform, and advocating for their role as providers.
