Supt. position offered to Tyrie
Negotiations for contract under way
WILTON — The Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative School district will be offering the superintendent position to Christine Tyrie of Francestown in a unanimous decision by the School Board on Thursday night.
The board voted to offer the position to Tyrie and open negotiations upon her acceptance during a special meeting on the issue Thursday night. The decision came down to which candidate was a better fit for the district, said School Board Chair Geoff Brock immediately following the meeting.
“We felt both were well qualified candidates,” said Brock. “Christine’s style is a better fit for the district at this time. She has strong experience in curriculum, a collaborative style and experience. We’re excited to have that quality of leadership available. With those qualities we can head the district in a very positive direction.”
Tyrie is currently serving as an assistant superintendent in the Nantucket School District. Dick Bergeron of Peterborough, who is the current superintendent of the ConVal District, was also a finalist for the position.
