Weekend wind topples trees, downs wires

Around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Dublin Fire Department responded to 42 Brush Brook Road, the home of Moose Maple Nursery and Garden Center, for a report of a downed tree that had landed on a house. According to Fire Chief Tom Vanderbilt, a large ash tree fell on top of the power lines and home while one of the owners was inside. Vanderbilt did not indicate any injuries had resulted.

Dublin Fire Department turned off the home’s power and left the remaining work to be done by Public Service of New Hampshire.

Owners Eryk and Jeannine Jadaszewski could not be reached on Monday.

Later in the day, Dublin Fire Department also responded to downed wires and trees on Chesham Road in Harrisville. According to the Southwestern New Hampshire District’s Fire Mutual Aid website, dispatch handled 71 calls, most of them for wind-related emergencies.
