Hand-blown glass at Jaffrey Civic Center

An exhibit of hand-blown glass by Alex Kalish is on display in the first-floor display cases at the Jaffrey Civic Center through July 24.

Kalish has been in love with hot glass since his exposure in 1985 at Franklin Pierce College. He came to New Hampshire from New York City and began creating his unique designs including stemware and vases, jewelry, ornaments and more. His works now include lighting and collaborative sculptural installations.

Each year he hosts special open house events in his studio, where he invites the public to come and watch him create his works.

He is a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, and his work has been sold throughout the United States and abroad.

Admission is free. Hours are Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays through Fridays, 1 to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
