New book set in Monadnock region
“Walk on Wings,” by Harrisville’s Irene M. Miller and published last month in Germany, is a story about the human sojourn on this planet, which will always involve the dilemma and struggle of separating right from wrong. Taken from life and centered in the Monadnock region, it spans across the globe to World War II scenes, life behind the Iron Curtain, Africa and China.
While the story is taken from life, events, characters and locales have been changed.
Since Miller’s earliest days, the Berlin-born author witnessed man’s inhumanity to man. She came to the U.S. in her teens, studied music and performed with orchestras in the U.S. and Europe. She is now retired from the practice of medicine as a physician assistant. She is a former Jaffrey resident.
