Man charged in manufacture, sale of drugs

JAFFREY — A Jaffrey man faces a handful of drug-related charges after he allegedly manufactured and sold marijuana in his hometown, according to police.

Andrew Broderick, 54, of Jaffrey was arrested and charged with manufacturing a controlled drug, sale of a controlled drug and three counts of possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana and assorted pills.

Chief Bill Oswalt said Tuesday that police began monitoring Webster Street, where Broderick was arrested Friday, after a citizen reported suspicious behavior in that area several days prior.

Since observing Broderick at that location Friday evening, Oswalt said police obtained a search warrant for Broderick’s car and residence at Forest Park mobile homes.

Police have since executed that warrant and found a few more drugs, including prescription medications, “but nothing in large quantities,” Oswalt said.

Near the location where police arrested Broderick, they seized six plants, which Oswalt said police believe to be marijuana plants.

Broderick was released on $10,000 personal recognizance with an Aug. 8 arraignment at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey.
