Jaffrey-Rindge: High School principal resigns
John Barth, principal at Conant High School and Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School, has resigned, three months after he was put on administrative leave.
In a statement announcing the resignation, Jaffrey-Rindge School Superintendent Jim O’Neill said the resignation will be effective at the end of the school year.
Barth and Conant music teacher Leonard Holmes were both placed on leave in April, and district officials have consistently refused to comment on the reasons for the leaves. Holmes resigned in May.
Barth became principal at Conant in 2006, and added supervisory responsibility for the middle school a year ago.
In the statement, O’Neill thanked Barth for his service to the district.
“Mr. Barth has focused his efforts on improving student learning and promoting a positive learning experience for all students,” O’Neill wrote. “His focus on students and school performance has been valuable to our community.”
