Vote to save Great Brook
To the editor:
I’m again writing to urge residents to seriously consider the consequences if Article 8 is approved by ConVal voters in the March 12 voting. If Article 8 passes Great Brook School will be no more than just an empty building that will sit there with absolutely no purpose. Approximately 40 positions would be affected. A huge blow to the town of Antrim and to the towns Great Brook School serves.
Am I taking this personally? You bet I am. I had the pleasure of attending GBS when it first opened. I was a sixth grader then. Ms. Barbara Black was my teacher. I remember during the last week of school at the Antrim Middle School, which is now the elementary school, all of us students carried the desks over to the new school. It was an exciting time and I couldn’t wait for the new school year to begin.
There is a Facebook page for all residents who want to save GBS from closing and who do not want to see South Meadow School in Peterborough double its student enrollment. The Facebook page is called “Vote Yes/#6, Vote No/#8 - Save Great Brook School.” Spread the word.
In case you are not aware, a former school board member from Temple submitted Article 8.
Think about the children before thinking about ways to save a few dollars on your tax bill. Think about the incredible teachers and staff at GBS. Think about Great Brook School. The school by far is the best middle school in the state.
