Conant boys baseball defeated Hillsboro-Deering 9-6 on Monday. Josh Warner pitched four innings, allowing two unearned runs, while Garrett Poole closed the door with three solid innings of work. The Orioles collected 10 hits in the victory, their first of the season. Conant is now 1-3 and will play host to Kearsarge tomorrow.

∎ ConVal boys baseball beat Hanover 6-0 behind the strong pitching of Ivon Clough. In seven innings, Clough gave up two hits while striking out 15 and not walking a batter. Clough also had two hits. Tyler Aborn, Matt Davis, and Brandon Carland also had a hit apiece.

CV is now 3-2; they host John Stark tomorrow at 4 p.m.

∎ The ConVal girls lacrosse team was defeated by John Stark by the score of 17-6 on Monday. Maddy Zimmerman scored three goals and Meghan Close and Zoe Paige each contributed one goal and one assist. Ingrid Aho scored a goal of her own. Lilly Grisafi had 11 saves in goal. Zimmerman, Close and Grisafi all stood out as playing well, head coach Cher McLelland said after the game.

ConVal then lost to Bishop Brady 7-3 on Tuesday night. Meghan Close, Zoe Paige and Ingrid Aho each scored one goal. Goalie Lilly Grisafi had five saves. The Cougars (1-5) played a hard fought game and will look to rebound when they travel to Derryfield Monday.

∎ The ConVal boys tennis team lost to Souhegan 6-3 on Monday, with five of the matches going the distance, two to tiebreaks.

Brendan Grenier won his singles 9-8 to give ConVal a split in the singles after Carl Svensson, 8-2, and Andrew Pierce, 8-6, had won their matches. ConVal lost the three doubles with two of matches going down to the last point.

The next day, ConVal lost a close match to Goffstown by a score of 5-4. Jack Lithgow and Andrew Pierce won their respective matches with ease, 8-0 and 8-1. John Colantino won his first singles match of the year 8-6. Brandan Grenier and Jack Lithgow won the No. 2 doubles match 8-6. The Cougars (1-3) travel to Oyster River tomorrow.

∎ The Mascenic baseball team collected their first win of the season on Friday, a 5-4 victory over Fall Mountain. The Vikings (1-1) travel to Hinsdale tomorrow.

∎ The WLC softball team improved to 5-0 on the season after winning their second straight 12-0 game and third straight shutout on Monday in a win over Newmarket. The Warriors have outscored their opponents 55-3 in their last three games.

∎ The Monadnock Country Club’s junior golf program kicks off its spring season on Monday. The yearly, four-week program is designed to give junior golfers a chance to experience the game with golf pro Dana Hennessey.

The cost is $35 and includes the use of clubs and equipment. 3rd and 4th grade sessions start Monday from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; 5th and 6th start May 8 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 924-7769.
