Cougars blanked by undefeated Windham

The tough early-season schedule did not get any easier for the ConVal girls lacrosse team on Tuesday with a visit from undefeated Windham.

The Cougars had already played unbeaten Kearsarge, as well as Hopkinton and Bishop Brady — both teams in the top eight of Division III. And Tuesday’s game did not end well for ConVal with an 18-0 loss.

Junior Lily Grisafi made five saves in net, but the defending champion Jaguars were too much for the Cougars. The JV team also lost, 13-0.

ConVal has allowed at least 14 goals in each of its first four games, while scoring a total of 17. The closest game was last Monday’s 14-9 loss to Bishop Brady, where Haley Webber, Meghan Close and Zoe Paige each scored twice.

The Cougars travel to Windham today.
