ConVal juniors Sean Stinehour and Zoe Paige were recently chosen for the Division III all-state teams.

Stinehour, the goalie for the boys team, and Paige, a midfielder for the girls, were both honorable mention selections.

Stinehour was a big reason why the Cougars returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

He consistently made huge saves when his team needed them the most and helped ConVal reach five wins, which put them in 15th place in D-III.

In the Cougars’ only tournament game, Stinehour made a career high 23 saves in an 8-4 loss to Hopkinton — a team that advanced all the way to the Division III finals. In a May 3 contest with Monadnock, Stinehour made 16 saves in an 11-10 triple overtime victory and his check in the second overtime helped keep the game tied.

For the season, Stinehour finished with 259 saves, averaging more than 17 per game.

As one of the few returning starters from last year, Paige was asked to do quite a bit this season. She played all over the field and contributed on both offense and defense.

Paige finished with seven goals for the year. She scored one of three overtime goals in a 12-10 victory versus Pembroke. In ConVal’s only other win, Paige had a goal and an assist against Pelham.
