PeterboroughSpring is theme at Toadstool SaturdaySpring is the theme for two events at the Toadstool Bookshop on Saturday.
At 11 a.m., John Harris, professor at Franklin Pierce University, will be signing and discussing his new book in which he retraces the naturalist Edwin Way Teale’s 17,000 mile journey from the Everglades north to Maine.
Harris made the same trip and in this new book “Returning North with the Spring,” he describes his own encounters with a natural world.
At 2 p.m., to celebrate National Poetry Month, more than a dozen of the “Hobblebush Poets” will be at the store to read their poems collected in the new book “Poet Showcase: An Anthology of New Hampshire Poets.”
Many local poets will be reading including Bill Doreski, Jane Eklund, Meg Kearney, Rodger Martin, Julia Older, and Becky Sakellariou.
Both events are free and open to the public.
