The Jaffrey Planning Board held a compliance hearing for a new development on Squantum Road, where the board found some plans needed to be updated to match the as-built conditions.
The Greenfield Fire Department and the Greenfield Fire Association hosted the annual community Pancake Breakfast at Oak Park on Sunday morning. Residents who turned out for homemade pancakes also enjoyed shopping at the Greenfield Farmers and Crafters Market and the weekly flea market.

A new three-tier rate system for Peterborough residents and businesses who use public water and sewers was approved by the Select Board Tuesday to encourage water conservation and shift some of the financial burden for water to bigger users in town.

A Peterborough resident on probation has been sentenced to up to five years in prison for being in possession of firearms and drugs. In Hillsborough County Superior Court North, Branden French pleaded guilty to 12 counts of Felon in Possession of a Deadly Weapon, and four counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug, also a felony.

Telling someone to “Look where you’re going,” wouldn’t have done much good Monday evening in Hancock, where paddlers were forbidden from doing so while taking to the water on Norway Pond for a good cause. The Blindfolded Boat Race to benefit Avenue A in Antrim pushed off just after 6 p.m., and after five preliminary heats and a final dash around the course, entrants helped raise over $8,000 for youth programs run through the Grapevine in Antrim. And nobody flipped into the pond.
Dublin Public Library, 1114 Main St., will host a bag sale Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14, offering books and DVDs remaining from its May book sale.
Francestown Land Trust will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Old Meeting House, 1 New Boston Road, Francestown. Refreshments and informal conversation will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a brief business meeting and presentation.
Avenue A’s third annual Blindfolded Boat Race will take place Monday, June 9, at 6:15 p.m. at Norway Pond in Hancock, with a rain date of June 10. The two-person canoe race features one blindfolded paddler and a rear navigator who shouts directions through a loop course that begins and ends at the town beach.
