Celebrating 25 years of artistry with ‘New England in Watercolors’
Jaffrey Civic Center: Exhibit of Jaffrey artist’s work opens May 31
Watercolors by Howard Hill of Jaffrey will be on display at the Jaffrey Civic Center through June 22.

Jaffrey watercolorist Howard Hill will be celebrating 25 years as a professional artist with an exhibit of “New England Watercolors” in the Cunningham Gallery at the Jaffrey Civic Center.
An opening reception will be held May 31, from 5 to 7 p.m., with the exhibit continuing through June 22.
Hill, 81, is an award-winning watercolor artist and teacher, whose paintings and museum quality prints are in public and private collections in the U.S., Canada and Europe. This show will hold nearly 50 of his original works, more than a dozen new paintings were created just for this exhibit. His subject matter is primarily New England scenes, including seascapes, landscapes and familiar architectural scenes.
In his artist statement he writes, “Unless commissioned for the work, I feel no obligation to paint exactly what is there. I want my watercolors to sing with delicious, impromptu, transparent diffusions.”
