The Jaffrey Farmer’s Market will hold a Season Celebration on Saturday, with many things to do.

Meet an alpaca. Pet a rabbit and learn to trim his toenails. Munch fresh-cut fries made from freshly harvested potatoes. Nibble on a scrumptious scone topped with homemade strawberry jam. Enjoy fresh hot or cold apple cider. Learn how to grow a giant pumpkin. Enter a free drawing for fun and delicious prizes. Listen to banjo music, lounge in a handcrafted Adirondack Chair, or stroll the lawn, with frisbees, hula hoops and kites.

Tomatoes, local maple syrup and zucchini will be available for sale. And there will be locally made alpaca products, too.

The market will also feature many other veggies, local bread, eggs and honey.

The Jaffrey Farmer’s Market will be open an extra hour, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday to celebrate customers and vendors on this special day. The regular market will take place rain or shine. Celebration events will be subject to fair weather only.

The market takes place at the Jaffrey Civic Center at 40 Main St., next to the library. While you are there, visit the Civic Center’s current display, “Reverence for Farms,” paintings by regional artists devoted to agriculture in the Monadnock region. If you need more information or would like to participate as a vendor for our Season Celebration, call Brenda Bhatti, market manager, at 532-2434. The Jaffrey Farmer’s Market is sponsored by Team Jaffrey.
